The Remusian Republic are an interstellar race hailing from their former home world of Remusia, but now reside on the new planet they now call Aisumer and have inhabited it for roughly 80 years. The Remusian were forced to evict their former home due to a colossal world war that left the planet's ecosystem broken and fragile, and ultimately uninhabitable. Out of this world war spawned two different empires, The Remusian Republic and the Neo-Synthetic Party (NSP). Due to underdeveloped FTL devices of the time, both wound up millions of light years* away from each other. The Republic, Lead by Vithem Templesmith at the time, was formed out of what was left of the Biological population that opposed the NSP at the time of Remusia's collapse. The Neo-Synthetic Party, Lead by Cael Consor at that time, formed out of a portion of the population following the path of synthetic evolution, and trying to usurp the Royal FAmily and those who opposed their ideals. They have encountered each other once again and are currently engaged in an active conflict with each other, neither really seem to be having an advantage over each other.

The Republic is now lead by Vechtho Templesmith, Vithem's son and heir, while Vithem is active on the frontlines, acting as a General and Tactician for the Remusian Military. The NSP is now known as The Collection, and is now a synthetic hivemind* maintained by what remains of Cael in the form a supercomputer that was created specifically for this purpose. The Collection consists various species that have been forcefully integrated into the hivemind through conquering planets

History[edit | edit source]

  • Some of my personal notes are still in here, some I may have forgotten or some I left in intentionally. Obligatory warning about spelling/grammar.

Very Early History That Needs To Be expanded on Still[edit | edit source]

First primitives to establish early civilizations through tribal communities

Eventually forms into civilization

Remusian empire if governed by a Royal Family, and 5 other selected rulers throughout the planet. These cities are refered to as 'The Big 6". Smaller towns and villages begin to dot the lands over time

One of the most notable figures in pre-collapse history, Vithem TempleSmith, son to Violea and Alberto Templesmith, is born, and recognized as a prince.

At a young age, Vithem meets another notable figure in history, Cael Consor. The two become very good friends and maintain a healthy friendship.

The time comes where Vithem must accept the crown himself, and for a time, Cael and Vithem grow distant from each. Feeling forgotten and somewhat betrayed, Cael moves to one of the other major cities on Remusia.

Vithem eventually rememebrs and tracks down Cael, wanting to reconnect with him, even offering himself a position as leader of one of the 6, as Cael has built up a well known reputation within his city. Cael accepts, and the two become friends once more.

Dawn Of A New Era[edit | edit source]

Both Vithem and Cael often collaborated on scientific pursuits together, the two were brilliant together. Many technological advancements were seen during this era, and was a golden age of sorts.(Lasts 25 years?) At a time, a Terrorist group formed and gained a reasonable amount of traction and effectiveness in the world. They had begun dabbling in synthetic and robotic augmentation to change the Remusian form. Vithem sought to handle to diplomatically and Cael becomes curious with their work around cybernetic augmentation. Vithem is skeptical at first, but works with Cael to create devices such as synthetic limbs or augmented devices that slightly enhanced ones abilities. Cael suggests pursuing a cybernetic path of evolution, but Vithem is wholeheartedly against it. Cael tries to convince Vithem on several occasions but Vithem remains unconvinced. Vithem urges Cael to never speak of the subject again. Cael agrees, but in secret carries out his own experiments on cybernetic abilities and augmentation. Cael begins not only to perform illegal experiments on others, but on himself as well.

The Fall Of The Royal Family[edit | edit source]

A span of time passes where Vithem doesn't hear from Cael, and any attempts to contact him have failed. In secret, Cael has been working with a terrorist group, that have reformed under his leadership , and now call themselves the Neo-Synthetic Party( NSP) After amassing a following in secret, Cael finally responds to one of Vithem's hails. Elated, Vithem welcomes Cael to the capitol. However, Cael appears to Vithem as barely recognizable at this point, as he has heavily augmented himself, reaching the point where he is more machine than Remusian. Vithem tries to overlook this, and goes to welcome his old friend back, but is only to be overthrown through a coup d'etat organized by Cael and the NSP. After learning his true intentions, Cael and Vithem fight for some time. Vithem tries to argue with Cael, insisting that synthetics is not who the Remusians as a people are, but Cael waves it off, claiming Synthetics are the way to evolve, and in time, the way to rule the galaxy. Vithem proves formidable, but in the end is outmatched by synthetic augmentations of Cael. Just as Vithem is about be killed by Cael, those loyal to him distract Cael and recover Vithem so they can escape. The loyalists unable to escape were slaughtered. Vithem and his loyalist escape to the nearest of the 6 colonies, where he finds the city to be filled with loyalists and the main group responsible for fighting the terrorists.

When the dust has settles, Cael puts out a message the Big 6 that those who do not bow to him, they will be dealt with by means of extreme force. Vithem has already gotten in contact with 2 of the remaining 4 Big 6 and recruited them to help his cause, while the other two wound up working with Cael, already having prior knowledge to Cael's campaign.

Thus begins the 15 year long world war between the Neo-Synthetic Party and the Royal Family Remnants. The Bio-Remusians proved to be capable foes against the machine onslaught for much of the war against their augmented brethren. In the first five years The RFR reclaimed the Royals Castle back, and many thought the war would be over. A brief confrontation between Vithem and Cael proceeded, but Cael managed to escape back to his own city, despite the precautions the RFR had taken to secure it. Once he had returned, the really pain of the war would begin.

Rise of the Synths[edit | edit source]

Before being hailed to the Capitol, Cael had constructed vast underground filled with automatic synthetic factories, and reactivated them when he arrived. Cael's previous allies had turned on them when they realized Cael was losing the castle, and they were the first to be hit. While both with the support of the RFR repelled the synths for some time, when the walls fell, no one was safe. All organic lifeforms was slaughtered by the synthetic horde. The remains merely served as outposts for the synthetics.

After the 2 cities fell, those that escaped fled to the remaining Big 6, composing of the Capitol and 2 others. It was around this time, the 10 year mark, that Vithem, along with what remained of Remusian's science departments, noticed the ecosystem beginning to break down. The constant abuse from Cael and the constant effect of war was destroying the planet, and by some calculations, would render it uninhabitable, Even to the likes of the synths. Vithem decides that if the Remusians would ever make it to space, now would be the time. He recalls that during Cael and Vithem's Golden Years, they drew up designs and several prototypes for interstellar travel, but their falling out had hindered the continuation of development. Cael kept the prints in his Lab, which was now in his citadel. A team would have to be dispatched to retrieve them. After several attempts, the prints, along with much of the technological advancements they had made were retrieved. Vithem lead a team of scientists and for the next five years they would spend developing space crafts.

Dawn Of The Final Day[edit | edit source]

The War ended when what was left of the Remusian Race escaped the collapsing Ecosystem into the stars, with the intention of leaving Cael and his machines to burn. Cael, however, had drawn up some hasty prints of his own, and intended to take his synthetic empire to the stars as well. Both ships make FTL jumps in completely random directions, landing both fractured races far off from each other. It would be a long time until the two races would meet again.

The Dawn Of The Republic[edit | edit source]

What was left of the Remusians would wounder the vast emptiness of space, flying into uncharted territory, determined to escape their callous pasts. They eventually found a relatively suitable planet to meet their living standards, and founded what is known presently as Aisumer. Vithem resumes his role as Head of the Royal Family, and benevolent Ruler of the Remusians. This begins the Founding days of the Interstellar endeavours of the Remusian Republic. Before long, Aisumer had become the once thriving planet that Remusia had been, and the bleeding edge in technology had been restored. Before long, advancement of technology was once more underway, with nuclear powered vehicles and advancement in weaponry developed during the Collapse. After colonizing the planets surrounding Aisumer, A more refined and controllable FTL was brought about to allow for proper interstellar travel

Interstellar Expansion[edit | edit source]

Expansion into the stars began very quickly, almost hastily so, without any regard for other potential space farers in the nearby systems. Using the prototypes developed by Vithem and his team as a base, more effective interstellar travel was created and colonization of the surrounding stars began. Fortunately for the Remusians, There were no immediate neighbours that could have been angered by their sudden expansion.

At about 60~ years after the colonization of Aisumer, Remusians have reached out into the stars, making their places in the Galaxy. They have met numerous races at this point, some on good terms, some, not so much. Trades and migration and all the regular stuff that empires allow with each other goes as usual. This time is roughly 10 years after Vithem has retired as Head of the Royal family, and has been succeeded by His son, Vechtho. Rumours around the Empire starts to circulate of a imperial expansionist empire known as the KreeTah turning their eyes to this side of the galaxy. They are known for being extremely remorseful and dangerous, not letting anything get in their way of annexing and conquering planets. AT this time, the Remusian naval/ military fleets had never really had to be utilized. Only small conflicts had come up in the past, a major mobilization was not necessary. These rumours came to pass however, and were soon forgotten.

Reports filed from some of the Empire's outer colonies had failed to come in, so a team of The Corps were sent to investigate. After sometime, urgent messages were broadcasted to the Royal Family. What was left of the Corps claimed they were being chased by the aliens which were rumoured, and after some time, the comms fell silent as what was left of them were destroyed. After hearing this, Vechtho began to enact a project of the massive buildup of the Remusian Navy and Her soldiers. In addition, scientific pursuits were shifted from developing technology to benefit the people to entirely military based. The edicts were given under what Vechtho called “The Grand Fleet Initiative”. Many Remusians across systems volunteered to participate in defending their land from this new threat. With limited training, whoever had volunteered was shipped off to fight, both on the ground and in space.

The beginning of the war suffered many casualties on the Remusian end, and their fleets were being pushed back by these KreeTahs. Seemingly all at once, several major breakthroughs were created that gave the Remusians a new edge in the war.(Find out if we dabble in Plasma weaponry or not) The development of powered exo/mech suits for the military ground support proved to be crucial to beating the enemy off the ground. These allowed the Remusians to match the strength of those they were fighting, in addition to tailoring them specifically for battles. These also revolutionized dangerous workplaces, while they would totally protect workers, it would be a huge step up then previously. Several new fleet designs and tactics were developed to counter those of the Kreetah, and proved rather effective. Even so, the KreeTah never seemed to be overpowered by the Remusians, but rather was always kept at par, or sometimes slightly ahead.

It was also noted at this time the way the Kreetah operated was almost odd, like they were not alive. They moved mechanically and in the same formations, which made tactical sense, but was unnatural. Eventually it was decided to perform an autopsy on several victims that had fallen in the war. These and most were heavily augmented with mechanical parts, little biological matter remained on them. Upon entering the brain, it was noted that there was nothing in most of them, and results came back inconclusive, except for one. This particular subject had a device lodged in its brain, and upon further removal and examination, in seemed to be a device which would override the thoughts and processes of whatever it was installed into. The other devices had activated a self destruct sequence to prevent discovery, but this particular one had malfunctioned. Not wanting to give away their location, the device was quickly disposed of to prevent accidental activation.

Revelations[edit | edit source]

Based on their previous finding, The team that dissected the KreeTah casualties deemed they could somehow remove the devices. A team was dispatched to incapacitate one or several of the Kreetahs from a patrol station located above an occupied planet. Using a containment field designed to block the signal between the creature and the mind, 1 of the Kreetahs were successfully recovered. A Fleet appeared in an attempt to retrieve the captured subject, but was unsuccessful. The Kreetah was brought back to Aisumer, and through careful surgery, the piece was removed, and immediately destroyed. When the creature awoke, it became very aggressive and scared, and some personnel were injured. Once the creature calmed down, the team briefly questioned it, and who he was. Turns out, the creature was part of a race called Hevnoc. The creature identified as General Kraytall, who had lead against the invading force before he was assimilated. The race had been attacked by an fleets and armies of synthetic creatures similar in appearance to the Remusians themselves. The Hevnoc describe the machines and ruthless, killing those who weren't deemed worth to be integrated into their hivemind of creatures. While the ones that resembled the Remusians seemed to lead the battlefront, other unknown races were among them as well.(should the piece be removed, it kills the subject?)

This team brought their findings to Vechtho, who in turn brought them to the Royal Council to discuss. They were unable to come to the conclusion as to why someone would imitate the Remusian image. The Remusians had yet to see any of them in battle, only the synthetic Hevnocs had been noted in battle. Confused by this and seeking advice, Vechtho summoned his father, Vithem, from his post on the Frontlines, where he was serving as a General and Tactician for the war. Upon arrival, Vechtho gave the former Emperor a rundown of his findings, and to Vechtho's shock, His father knew who exactly was behind this whole thing. Cael, his former best friend and arch-nemesis from his days on Remusia. Vithem knew Cael would not stop until the Remusians were destroyed. Vithem returned to his post immediately, as the troops were not about to lead themselves. (There is still more to this than I have in here currently, I simply haven't typed it out yet)
